Redesigning the Foundation CMS for Real Estate Presentations, 2022.
Software: Adobe XD, Wix.com
Company: Engage Works
What
Enhancing the Foundation CMS for Tailored Real Estate Presentations
In my previous role at EngageWorks, I had the opportunity to contribute to the evolution of the Foundation CMS – a powerful tool that empowers clients in the real estate industry to create dynamic and engaging presentations. My focus was on redesigning the CMS interface to provide a more intuitive and user-friendly experience, ultimately enabling clients to showcase their properties effectively.
The actual presentations can ran on tablets, and large-format touch-enabled displays.
Why
Addressing User Needs and Elevating the Presentation Experience
The real estate industry thrives on visually appealing presentations that highlight property features effectively. However, the initial version of the Foundation CMS faced challenges in terms of usability and flexibility. Clients struggled with creating presentations that truly resonated with their audience. This drove the need for a redesign that not only simplified the design process but also offered the customization required to match each client's unique branding and property offerings.
Process
Double Diamond (sprint based)
Crafting an Intuitive Redesign in Adobe XD and Wix
Research and Analysis: I began by conducting user interviews and analyzing usage data to identify pain points and user preferences within the existing CMS. This research laid the foundation for the design decisions that followed.
Conceptualization and Wireframing: Armed with insights, I sketched out multiple wireframes that aimed to streamline the presentation creation process. These wireframes were transformed into interactive prototypes using Adobe XD, allowing me to visualize and iterate upon the interface design.
User Testing and Iteration: Through usability testing, I gathered feedback from both clients and internal teams, refining the design based on their input. This iterative process ensured that the redesign addressed user needs effectively.
Visual Design and Branding: Working within the existing brand guidelines, I crafted a modern and visually cohesive interface that reflected the professionalism of the real estate industry. This design was then branded and translated into a functional website using Wix.com.

Takeaway
Empowering Clients and Delivering Impact
The redesigned Foundation CMS successfully bridged the gap between client needs and the capabilities of the platform. Clients gained the ability to craft tailored presentations that resonated with their target audience, enhancing their engagement and communication. The user-friendly interface allowed them to focus on content creation rather than grappling with the technology.
This project highlighted the importance of user-centric design, iterative development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. It taught me that effective design is not just about aesthetics but also about understanding the users' goals and providing tools that empower them to succeed.
As I move forward in my career, I carry with me the lessons learned from this project – a testament to the transformative power of design in shaping user experiences and driving tangible results.
